Budgee, a Helpful Personal Robot!

Meet your new personal helper, a robot named Budgee™. Budgee is a robot assistant for executives, moms, travellers and the elderly and disabled. It can follow and carry items for you. Budgee works both inside and outside and "can travel over sidewalks and streets, and is able to safely travel up and down handicap ramps."

How does Budgee follow and know its owner? The owner wears a 1"x1" transmitter which only Budgee recognizes. It "will only follow the one that belongs to you." Budgee is turned on and off by a push of the button on his head. The same button also controls manual or follow mode. Besides the ability to control Budgee by smart phone or tablet via a joystick, it can also be controlled by a small remote control device manually.

Budgee is also customizable and can communicate. For example you can control the stride lengths at which Budgee follows you. You can also change Budgee™’s eye color to your preference. Budgee can also talk to you, eyes blink and play music. All of these functions are used to show its current status.

Other Budgee features include the ability to detect obstacles and cliffs through built-in sensors. Budgee is safe around pets and children and is acceptable in public places. Weighing only 20 pounds, it can easily fit in a standard car trunk. It folds up for transportation and storage with dimensions of 18″ x 20″ x 12″. It can carry a load up to 50 lbs and can move 4 miles per hour. Budgee can run up to 10 hours on its rechargeable battery. Its battery can be recharged in 2-3 hours.

Budgee was awarded Two Gold Stevie Awards at the American Business Awards in 2015. Budgee has received accolades from some of the top tech and gadget publications including GIGAOM, DVICE, gizmag, technabob, IEEE, CNET, TECHZONE360, techcrunch, Wired Magazine, 33rd Square, SysMagazine and Gadgetify.
